As Paul himself said, to write a full article on this car would go some way to filling the whole website. What we've done instead is compress it all down into a detailed tech spec sheet. If you're absolutely intent on finding out more, you can always find Paul in a forum near you - he's a nice chap and is always keen to help. If that won't do then you'll have to hunt him down at a meet ...

::: Tech Spec :::

Engine: 2861cc 12v vr6 from '95 corrado 'jamex' polished alloy & foam induction kit. 'Speedtech' 2" group 'a' stainless steel exhaust system with polished, upturned, flat-oval tailpipe & cat bypass pipe. Golf mkiii diesel twin fan radiator with custom stainless steel bracket. 'Vibratechnics' uprated front engine mount. 2x 'ecotek' cb-26p valves. Hand polished inlet manifold, tensioner, alternator, cam cover & idle stabilisation valve. 'Pipercross' crank case breather filter.

Transmission: 02a 5 speed, cable operated gearbox & linkage from '92 mkiii golf 2.8 vr6. Cable-hydraulic clutch converting linkage from early vw passat.

Chassis: Front brakes: late model golf mkii 16v hubs & carriers. 280mm caliper spacers. 280mm dia. X 22mm thk 'zimmerman' cross-drilled & ventilated discs. golf mkii gti 16v calipers. Rear brakes :- golf mkiii gti 16v rear calipers. 'black diamond' grooved discs. 'Goodridge' stainless steel braided hoses all round (6 line kit). 'Pagid' fast road brake pads all round. 'Avo-evolution' ride & height adjustable 2" coil-over suspension. 'Awesome' polished alloy rear strut brace. 'Eibach' polished alloy front upper strut brace. 'Eibach' uprated anti-roll bars (front 22mm, rear 28mm). 'Powerflex' & 'bonrath' polyurethane bushes all round. Golf mkii power steering rack run off vr6 pump & reservoir.

Wheels & tyres: Specially ordered 'Azev 'k'' 9"x16" (et15) deep-dish alloy wheels with diamond polished & lacquered rims. 'Yokohama' a520 - 215/40/vr16 unidirectional tyres all round.

Bodywork: Full 3 stage/2 pack respray in Honda imola pearl orange (from nsx) Rolled & flared rear & cut-away front wheel arches. Original bonnet vents & washer jets removed and plated over - scuttle area piped to o/s wheel arch for fresh air supply. - louvered vent grafted into new vag bonnet. 'speedtech' meshed vent in new vag o/s wing. De-seamed & de-badged rear panel. De-locked tailgate (handle filled & smoothed, now opened via solenoid). Rear wash/wipe removed and plated over. N/s/f wing aerial removed and plated over.


Body side mouldings removed and plated over. Smoothed scuttle panel (unused wiper holes plated over). 'Storm' centrally parking single wiper with integrated washer jets & hollow corrado rear wiper spindle- -piped to '84 golf mkii secondary washer bottle in boot (original bottle in engine compartment removed). Rear towing eye removed & bumper cover blended into bumper. 'C' pillar swage lines beaten smooth. De-locked, flush fit audi 80 rear door handles with chromed mechanisms.

Audi 80 tilt 'n' slide sunroof with early corrado electric motor. Golf g60 wheel arch extensions - modified to fit without body side mouldings. '90 spec. Side skirts with jacking covers blended in. Golf rallye front panel & headlamps with all' non-reflective' internals painted black. 'Awesome' de-badged golf rallye grille with 'expamet' stainless steel meshed apertures. 'Swg motorsport' extra-deep upper grille spoiler (bonded to grille & headlamps) 'Swg motorsport' rear spoiler with integral brake light.

Flush fit, polished alloy, lockable fuel filler cap with gold anodised aluminium 'probolts' 'R&a design' real carbon fibre brake cooling ducts in smoothed fog light apertures. 'Seat' cordoba turbo diesel lower front spoiler with meshed apertures. Mkii golf gl front lower spoiler modified to fit under rear bumper. 'Vitaloni' californian wing mirrors with custom made mounting plates and integral side repeaters. 'Fifft' smoked front indicators. 'Mhw' clear rear light clusters with 'foliatec' xenon film. Polished alloy bonnet lifters. Stubby alloy 'bee-sting' aerial. 'Happich' opening rear quarter windows.

Interior: 'recaro' heated leather front seats from Audi tt roadster. Corrado g60 60/40 split rear seat retrimmed in black leather. Leather door cards (custom made in front, incorporating Audi tt handles and window switches.) Late model corrado black dashboard, switches & modified centre console. Late model corrado vr6 instruments. Starter button in place of cigarette lighter Corrado height adjustable steering column and surround. Mkiii golf steering column stalks.

'Momo-champion' 350mm steering wheel with gold anodised 'pro-bolts' & 'wolfsburg -edition' horn button in bespoke polished alloy surround. 'Speedtech' polished alloy gearknob with 'wolfsburg -edition' badge & black leather gaiter. Alloy door lock pins. Custom fibreglass door builds for front speakers. Carbon look door pulls. Vag electric windows & central locking. 'Richbrook' gold anodised alloy tax disc holder. Fully carpeted boot in black. (visible when ice system & rear seat is removed) Fire extinguisher, first aid kit & combined glass hammer/safety belt knife.

ICE: Head unit - 'alpine' cda-7944r single cd/tuner. Amplifiers- 'alpine' mrv300s 4x50w amp. 'Alpine' mrv1005 2x300w amp. Speakers - 'infinity' cs1 components - 6" x 9" woofers & 4" mids (doors). Emit ribbon tweeters (dash). 2x'alpine' swr304d 12" subwoofers. Install- custom made - hand built g.r.p & m.d.f. Subwoofer enclosures.- (2 X26litres sealed). Hand polished amplifiers. 'Black u.v.' lighting. Perspex amp covers in false floor. 'Autoleads' & 'stinger' oxygen free cabling & fuses used throughout. Entire interior sound deadened with 'brown bread' sound proofing.

Security: 'Clifford' concept 50x thatcham cat 1 alarm immobiliser. Total closure, remote central locking & solenoid boot release. Locking wheel nuts. Fully delocked exterior.

Right then what'll it do? - Having read this far down, you're probably gagging to know how fast is it?. Well the figures speak for themselves (it's also worth noting that these are not 'bloke down the pub' /owners estimates)
