::: Andy Bryant's old Corrado VR6 :::

My Corrado was a 1993 L reg VR6 in a pearl effect Satin Silver. I bought it from Autotek a Corrado specialist near Guildford in November 2001. Despite having 85,000 miles on the clock it was in amazing condition inside and out. It had a full service history and all the old MOT certificates to confirm the mileage.

I up-rated the headlights to Bosch Super Blues (xenon & blue) and a special heavy duty wiring loom ensured that the dipped beam was good & the main beam blinding. Other than this it was completely standard and I kept it this way apart from a stainless Milltek Exhaust (I would have fitted a VW one but it was more than twice the price) I think VW got the Corrado right when it left the factory - as it handled superbly and went like a rocket... AS STANDARD!

I waxed the car with Swissol. This wax is fantastic and lasts for ages. I also believe that this helped me when I entered the VR into a few Show-n-Shines as I won one and had two second places.

Security was taken care of by a Thatcham category 1 alarm / immobiliser system plus an additional Thatcham 2 immobiliser. The sounds were from an Alpine CD head unit producing 4 * 45 watts to up-rated Kenwood speakers in the front and infinity 6 x 4's in the rear. I also fitted capacitors to the standard rear speakers to stop them distorting when the volume is cranked up!

I owned this fantastic Corrado VR6 from November 2001 to February 2003 when due to our expanding family I needed a more practical main car. I was sad to lose such a great car that I had always wanted but I am glad that I did experience the VR6.
